When Can You Volunteer for Brisbane 2032?
Not yet. The organising committee says the Brisbane 2032 volunteer programme will not be released until after the Los Angeles 2028 Games, and the only official step today is its own e-newsletter. Paris 2024 had about 300,000 applications for 45,000 places; LA28 opened applications on 14 July 2026 for roughly 60,000 roles. Brisbane will need tens of thousands of people across the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the regional venues. This page is an independent waitlist: leave your email and we will tell you the day applications open, what the roles are, and how the Paris and LA programmes chose people. It is not an application and it is not the official programme.
Why is there no Brisbane 2032 volunteer application yet?
Because host cities open volunteering two to three years out, not six. LA28 opened on 14 July 2026 for a July 2028 Games. On that lead time Brisbane's window is 2029 or 2030. The organising committee has said only that the programme will follow LA 2028.
The gap is the point of this page. Between now and then, the people who want to be there have nowhere to put their name. We'll hold it, and we'll write to you when something real happens. Nothing else.

Paris took around 300,000 applications for 45,000 places, roughly one in seven. LA28 is recruiting about 60,000 with a stated focus on local communities. Both ran online applications, language and availability screening, then training in the months before the Games.
The numbers matter for Brisbane because rejection is the normal outcome. Applying early, being available for the whole fortnight, and having a second language or a trade skill were the things that moved people through the Paris and London queues. We'll publish the Brisbane criteria the day they exist.
What can you do now?
Three things. Join this list. Follow the organising committee's own newsletter at olympics.com. And look at Volunteering Queensland, which is already recruiting for the events that run in Brisbane every year and is the pathway the state has pointed to for 2032.
Volunteering at the Gold Coast Marathon, the Ekka or a state championship is the closest thing to a rehearsal, and it's the kind of history the Games programme is likely to ask about.

No. This is an independent waitlist run by BRIS2032. The official programme is run by the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee and has not opened. When it does, we will link to it.
When will Brisbane 2032 volunteer applications open?
The organising committee has said the programme will not be released until after the LA 2028 Games. No date has been given. On the LA28 lead time of about two years, that points to 2029 or 2030.
How many volunteers will Brisbane 2032 need?
No number has been announced. Paris 2024 used 45,000 and LA28 is recruiting about 60,000. Brisbane's regional venues in Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Toowoomba will add to the total.
Do I have to live in Queensland to volunteer?
Not known yet. Paris and LA accepted international applicants, and LA28 gave priority to local communities. Brisbane's rules have not been published.
