How Much Will Brisbane 2032 Tickets Cost?
Brisbane 2032 ticket prices have not been set. What we have is a promise and a precedent. The promise came from organising committee president Andrew Liveris, who told the ABC in April 2025 that an affordable ticket should cost between A$30 and A$50. The precedent is LA28, which opened global ticket sales on 9 April 2026 with more than a million tickets at US$28, nearly half of all Olympic tickets under US$200, and only about 5% above US$1,000. Paris 2024 ran the same shape: a million tickets at €24, and almost half of its 10 million tickets at €50 or less. Expect Brisbane to land in that pattern — a big cheap tier, a solid middle, and a small expensive top end that gets all the headlines. Nothing is bookable yet, and anyone selling you a Brisbane 2032 ticket today is selling you nothing.

What has Brisbane 2032 actually said about ticket prices?
One figure, from one interview. Brisbane 2032 president Andrew Liveris told ABC News in April 2025 that an affordable ticket would be "between $30 and $50 — or something like that." He has not repeated a number since, and the organising committee has published no pricing structure, no tier bands and no on-sale date.
The reasoning he gave matters more than the number. Higher-priced tickets with perks will still exist, and the money they raise subsidises the cheap end. He referenced Paris 2024, where a common ticket sold for around €40, as the kind of access he wants.

Treat A$30–$50 as a stated intention from six-plus years out, not a price list. It is the only number on the record.
What did LA28 tickets actually cost?
LA28 is the most useful comparison available, because it is the Games immediately before Brisbane and its tickets are already selling. Global sales opened on 9 April 2026, which LA28 calls the earliest on-sale period in the history of the Games. The published price structure is unusually specific.

More than 1 million tickets were made available at US$28 — described by LA28 chief executive Reynold Hoover as the lowest priced Olympic ticket in modern history. Pricing varies by sport, competition stage and category.
Two things are worth pulling out of that. First, the expensive tickets are a rounding error: about 5% of inventory. Second, "finals are unaffordable" is not true at LA28 — more than three-quarters of tickets, finals included, sit under US$400.
What did Paris 2024 tickets cost?
Paris 2024 sold roughly 10 million tickets. One million went at €24, and almost half of the total were €50 or less. At the other end, finals in athletics, swimming and basketball reached €980 — more than 40 times the cheapest seat for the same sport.
That gap is the thing to understand about Olympic pricing. It is not one price with variation around it. It is two markets stacked on top of each other: a large, deliberately cheap public tier, and a small premium tier that funds it. Reported "Olympic ticket prices" almost always quote the second one.
So what will a Brisbane 2032 ticket realistically cost?
Nobody can tell you, and anyone giving you a firm number is guessing. What the two most recent Games show is a consistent structure, and Liveris has said Brisbane wants the same shape. On that basis the sensible planning assumption is a cheap tier somewhere near A$30–$50, a broad middle where most events sit, and a small premium band for finals and ceremonies.

Our read: the ceremonies and the athletics finals will be expensive, and they will sell out regardless. Everything else is likely to be cheaper than people expect. If you are budgeting now, the ticket is not the part of a Brisbane 2032 trip that should worry you.
When will you be able to buy Brisbane 2032 tickets?
No date has been announced. The best available guide is the LA28 gap: global sales opened 9 April 2026 for a Games starting 14 July 2028 — about two years and three months out. Applied to Brisbane's opening ceremony on 23 July 2032, that points to roughly early-to-mid 2030.
That is a comparison we are drawing, not an announcement. Paris opened earlier in relative terms, and LA28 describes its own on-sale as the earliest ever, so 2030 is a reasonable middle rather than a floor. Will Brisbane locals get cheaper tickets or priority?
Liveris has said it is "very important" that tickets reach Brisbane residents, with ballots or lotteries deciding allocation, and named Sydney 2000 as the model. No mechanism has been confirmed. LA28 did run a locals presale — Southern California and Oklahoma City residents bought before a single ticket went on sale to the rest of the world.
If Brisbane copies that, being registered early and in Queensland is worth more than being willing to pay more. Registration, not budget, is likely to be the gate.
Can you buy Brisbane 2032 tickets now?
No. There is no official platform, no prices and no on-sale date, so there is nothing legitimate to buy. Any site listing Brisbane 2032 tickets today is selling something it does not have.
The usual scam markers apply: pressure to pay by bank transfer or gift card, prices that look too good, and sellers who cannot name the exact session. LA28's own verified resale programme does not open until 2027 — six years out, Brisbane has nothing comparable.
What can you actually do now?
Two things, and only one of them is urgent.
The urgent one is accommodation. The Property Council of Australia and CBRE put Brisbane about 10,000 hotel rooms short for 2032, with the development pipeline covering less than a quarter of the gap. Rooms are the scarce resource, not tickets, and they will be committed long before any ballot is decided. The non-urgent one is registration. When Brisbane opens a ticket register, get on it the day it opens. At LA28 registration was required only once, and everyone not selected in the first draw rolled automatically into later ones.
What changed in 2026
The single most useful development for anyone planning a Brisbane trip: LA28 actually started selling. Until April 2026, every estimate of Olympic ticket pricing and timing leaned on Paris 2024. There is now a second, more recent data point from the Games directly before Brisbane, with a published price distribution and a documented on-sale date. That is what most of this page is built on.
