Flying in from within Australia
Every mainland capital has short direct flights to Brisbane, roughly 1.5 hours from Sydney, around 2 to 2.5 from Melbourne and Adelaide, and longer from Perth. Expect a lot more services during the Games, and expect them to sell out, so book the moment your dates are firm.
Flying in from overseas
Brisbane has direct international flights from parts of Asia and the Pacific, plus some long-haul routes, and connects to many more origins via Sydney or Melbourne. Airlines typically add Games-period capacity closer to the event, so keep an eye on new routes as 2032 approaches.
Getting from the airport into the city
The Airtrain runs from both terminals to central Brisbane in about 20 minutes and links into the wider train network, so you can often reach your suburb without changing to a car.
